Do you dream of flying at Le Morne? Here's why not flying there might actually be a very pleasant surprise.

When booking a paragliding flight in Mauritius, many visitors have one very specific idea in mind: flying at Le Morne.And that is perfectly understandable.Le Morne is probably the best-known paragliding site on the island. Its exceptional setting between the mountain, lagoon and ocean makes it an iconic location that many travellers dream of discovering from the air.But what few people know before arriving is that Le Morne is also one of the most demanding sites on the island when it comes to weather conditions.

Flying at Le Morne is only possible when all the conditions are right

To safely operate a tandem flight at Le Morne, several factors need to align perfectly:

  • the right wind direction;
  • suitable wind strength;
  • stable air conditions;
  • a sufficiently long weather window to allow take-off, flight and landing in safe conditions.

When one of these elements is not right, we prefer not to fly at this site.Our priority is simple: the safety of our passengers.This is why we can generally only fly at Le Morne once or twice a month during the Mauritian winter, and around three to four times a month during the summer.

Irinia's Story: She Came to Fly at Le Morne and Left with an Even Stronger Memory

Recently, Irinia and her partner booked their flight with one very clear goal: to discover Le Morne from the sky.Like many visitors, they had seen the photos, read the reviews and dreamed of flying over this legendary site.Unfortunately, on the day of their flight, the weather conditions did not allow us to fly there safely.We therefore offered them an alternative flying site.Like many passengers in this situation, they were naturally a little disappointed at first.Then the take-off happened.A few minutes later, the disappointment had completely disappeared.The landscapes unfolded beneath their feet, lush green mountains stretched as far as the eye could see, and the emotion took over.Irinia's smile throughout the flight perfectly sums up what we regularly see: it is not the name of the site that creates the memory, but the experience you have in the air.

Mauritius Is About More Than Just Le Morne

Le Morne is spectacular.But it is not the only incredible place to go paragliding in Mauritius. The island has several flying sites offering completely different landscapes:

  • lush green mountains;
  • wild valleys;
  • panoramic views over the interior of the island;
  • longer flights depending on the conditions;
  • areas that can sometimes be more suitable for paragliding than Le Morne itself.

Some passengers even tell us after their flight that they are glad to have discovered a place they would never have thought of visiting.

The Best Flying Site Is Often the One That Works on the Day of Your Booking

The reality of paragliding is simple.We do not choose the flying site based on its reputation. We choose the site that offers the safest conditions and the best possible experience on the day of your flight.
