His passion for paragliding began in childhood. He started learning to paraglide at the age of 8 and completed his first solo flights at just 10 years old.Today, Shubam has 20 years of paragliding experience and thousands of flights to his name. He flies both solo and tandem and is familiar with the different flying environments across Mauritius. This experience allows him to adapt each flight to the conditions of the day and the person flying with him.Shubam speaks French, English and Mauritian Creole, making it easy to communicate with passengers and clearly explain every stage of their experience.

Our Priority: Safety

At Mauritius Tandem Paragliding, safety is at the heart of every flight.Weather and aerological conditions are carefully considered before any take-off decision. Paragliding depends directly on natural conditions, including wind strength and direction, rising air currents and their evolution throughout the flight. These factors must be assessed to determine whether conditions are suitable for flying.The launch site is also selected according to the conditions encountered on the day. Our objective is to prioritise appropriate flying conditions rather than attempting to fly at all costs.Every passenger is seated in a tandem harness equipped with an airbag. The equipment used for our flights, including the paraglider and harness, is regularly maintained and inspected to ensure its condition and reliability.Before every take-off, a pre-flight briefing is provided. Instructions are explained clearly so that each passenger understands how to prepare for launch and what to expect during the flight.

Gris Gris: Coastal Soaring Above the Ocean

Located in the south of Mauritius, Gris Gris offers a very different environment from the island’s more traditional mountain flying sites.This area can provide opportunities for coastal soaring, using air movements generated by the terrain and cliffs overlooking the ocean. The dramatic coastline and the wild atmosphere of this part of the island create a distinctive flying experience.

Le Pouce and Pieter Both: Mauritius’ Iconic Mountains

The mountains of Le Pouce and Pieter Both are among the most recognisable natural landmarks in Mauritius.Depending on the conditions and available opportunities, their mountainous surroundings may offer possibilities for flights above the island’s inland landscapes.These locations are more technical, and their suitability depends heavily on aerological conditions and pilot experience. They are therefore not necessarily used for tourist tandem flights.
